Not every “70% off” is a deal. A lot of the discounts you see online are calculated off an inflated MRP that the product never actually sold for. Here is how we separate a genuine bargain from a fake one at dealShope.
1. Check the price history, not the MRP
The MRP is often set high on purpose so the discount looks dramatic. What matters is what the product has actually sold for over the last few months. If the “discounted” price is roughly the normal selling price, it isn’t a deal.
2. Compare across sellers
If a product is 60% off on one site but sells for the same price everywhere else, the discount is cosmetic. A real deal is priced below what you can easily find elsewhere.
3. Watch the sale calendar
For big-ticket items, prices tend to bottom out during major sale events. If one of those is around the corner, it is often worth waiting a couple of weeks.
The dealShope verdict
This is exactly why every deal we post carries a plain verdict — Worth it, Wait, or Skip. We would rather tell you to skip a bad deal than push you toward a discount that isn’t real.
